Meet Sean Keene:
Novoferm UK Supply Chain Manager
Novoferm UK introduces Sean Keene as our Supply Chain Manager. Sean brings with him over 14 years of experience within the garage door manufacturing industry.
We caught up with him to learn more about his background, how does he feel about Novoferm and find out more about him as a person.
Q. What initially attracted you to join the company?
I spent 14 years in the garage door manufacturing industry in a variety of roles before joining Novoferm, and was approached by the former Transport Manager about the opportunity.
It did not take much convincing to return to the industry. Over the years, I had built strong relationships with customers and genuinely enjoyed the work. Having previously worked for a family-run business, I was also keen to experience how a multinational company operates and to broaden my perspective.
Q. How has your role evolved since you first started?
My role has evolved significantly over the past 13 years. I initially returned as a driver, but within a year progressed to Transport Manager, taking responsibility for both the warehouse team and our drivers. This includes ensuring we have the right vehicles in place to meet operational needs.
A key part of my role is maintaining safety and compliance and making sure our drivers operate within regulations and that all vehicles are roadworthy and maintained to a high standard.
Alongside this, I have been able to support production using my previous industry experience. More recently, my team and I have taken a more active role in residential vehicle operations and cross-company deliveries. I also oversee waste management, with a strong focus on improving sustainability through better recycling and reducing waste.
Q. What do you enjoy most about your role?
No two days are the same, and I enjoy the variety and challenges that come with the role. It is particularly rewarding to make a positive difference — whether that is supporting a colleague, solving a customer issue, or helping the wider team succeed.
Customer interaction is a key part of my day, whether it is arranging urgent deliveries or drawing on my experience to find practical solutions. I also enjoy sourcing new vehicles, from HGVs to company cars and forklifts and ensuring our teams have the right tools to do their jobs effectively.
Q. How do you enjoy spending your time outside of work?
As a family man, I love spending time with my wife and daughter ( when she is not seeing her boyfriend), I am a keen cook and love cooking and baking for others, just ask some of the office staff who are always after a quiche.
I enjoy travelling to see other places and cultures but our go to place is Florida. I also enjoy DIY and gardening; well my wife must think I do as I always have a list of things to do.
