What are the minimum and maximum widths and heights of a Novoferm Side Hinged Doors?
Minimum and maximum sizes across our side hinged door range differ depending on door design. Maximum width across the full range is 2438mm.
What are the frame sizes for Novoferm Side Hinged doors?
On our Novoferm side hinged doors the frame legs are 50mm each side totalling 100mm. The frame head for the side hinged doors totals 50mm.
Are side hinged doors only available in a 50 / 50 split configuration?
No, the majority of our side hinged door range is only available in 50 / 50 split however certain designs are available with an offset configuration with one door leaf being bigger than the other in a 70/30 split leaving a smaller personnel door opening. Are Novoferm Side Hinged doors available for inward opening?
Novoferm Side Hinged doors are hinged outward as standard however inward opening is available.

Does The NovoTherma Insulation Upgrade Have a u-value and what is the thickness of this insulation?
Yes, the NovoTherma does have a U-Value from 2.4 W/m2.K. The insulation is Polyisocyanurate (PIR) with a 30mm thickness.
Can The NovoTherma upgrade be available across all Novoferm steel side hinged doors?
The NovoTherma upgrade is only available on doors with a 50/50 split configuration and on doors without glazing.
Is the NovoTherma Side Hinged insulation upgrade draught proof and do the doors have draught seals?
Yes, they have draught seals on the header and sides. The threshold does not have a seal but comes up behind the door so will significantly reduce draught. No performance is declared.
3 Point Locking FAQs
Can the 3-Point locking mechanism on a Novoferm Side Hinged come without a threshold?
Yes, this mechanism can come without a threshold however, the 3-point locking mechanism does lock into the threshold provided as the complete 3-point locking set. This would need to be stated when placing an order
How do the various items / components of the 3 point locking come attached to the Side Hinged doors?
The various items all come attached to the frame. For the locking bar, the threshold is pre drilled however this is not pre drilled for fixing to the ground.
How high is the threshold and what is it made of?
The threshold is made of 1.2mm galvanised steel and has a height of 25mm on the inner face where the threshold sits between the legs. While we have driven a small van over the threshold with no immediate defects, we do not guarantee performance for vehicular use. For small/light vehicles like quadbikes or ride on lawn mowers this will be suitable.
