Secured by Design FAQ's
What makes Novoferm's Novorol 77 roller door Secured by Design accredited?
Our Novorol 77 insulated roller door up to 3m passed STS222 to BR1 which is the requirement for a roller door product to be classified as Secured by Design. After rigorous independent testing this ensures they can resist common methods of physical attack. All Secured by Design doors need to be fitted behind the brickwork.
Why is Secured by Design accreditation only available on doors up to 3000m wide, is there a height restriction and will this be available on the double doors in the future?
Novoferm's Novorol 77 Doors over 3000mm are not currently eligible for Secured by Design (SBD) certification due to the stringent testing criteria applied at this size. Despite this, these doors still provide a robust and secure solution, offering a high level of protection, although slightly below the certified standard achieved by doors up to 3000mm. There is no height restriction for this other than our maximum sizes that we can offer. Novoferm are planning for further testing to take place on our 5m wide doors where we will keep you updated with any further product developments.
ANSA FAQ's
How Exactly Does The Ansa System Work on Novoferm Roller doors?
Within the ANSA system, there is a magnet on the bottom rails and a ‘positioning’ track on the guide. After the initial set up, this system knows how quickly the door is moving and stops if the bottom lath suddenly stops or slows down unexpectantly (because it has hit an object). The benefits of this system include offering a higher reliability when colliding with a large surface area like a car bonnet over conventional optical eyes and easier maintenance and repairs as all hardware is accessible after install.
What is the key feature of the Ansa System?
A reason why ANSA is a selected product is that this system offers a high reliability when colliding with a large surface area like a car bonnet over conventional optical eyes. Easier maintenance and repairs as all hardware is accessible after install.
Is the ANSA control unit compatible for smart home functionality?
No, smart home control system / compatibility is not available. The ANSA system is a hardware system for controlling the door safely.
