Novoferm is a leading international company for door and gate solutions and loading systems. The company was founded in 1955 as Isselwerk Werth GmbH on the Lower Rhine and has been part of the Japanese Sanwa Group (owned by Sanwa Holdings Corporation) since 2003. The Novoferm Group produces at various locations in Europe and sells products in many countries around the world via numerous national companies and sales partners. Novoferm employs over 3,500 people and is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001.

History
A look back
The history of Novoferm is also an impressive story of the German economic miracle. It began in 1955 on the Lower Rhine as Isselwerk Werth GmbH, founded by partners Bernhard Sandscheper and Peter Hoffmann. The two recognised the great opportunities offered by industrially prefabricated metal and steel construction products at an early stage and began producing doors, gates, railings, windows, spreader rollers and stacking racks in Isselburg-Werth. Over the following decades, the Novoferm Group has grown successively in Europe and is one of the leading international companies for door and gate solutions as well as loading and logistics systems.
2025

Novoferm celebrates its 70th birthday in Spring 2025. Behind this milestone anniversary is the success story of an innovative company, founded on 10th March 1955. From small beginnings in Isselburg-Werth on the Lower Rhine to today's international significant group of companies. With locations throughout Europe but also in Asia and sales areas all over the world.

2022
Solidarity with Ukraine.
As the Novoferm Group, we show our solidarity on behalf of all our employees with the people in Ukraine, who are currently experiencing incredible suffering as a result of the Russian war. Our company shares European values such as peace, freedom and solidarity. After decades of peace in Europe, this war of aggression launched by Russia and the associated military aggression is a profound turning point for us all. As a sign of our solidarity, we are currently refraining from all business relations and sales activities with and in Russia/Belarus for as long as the war lasts.
2021
Novoferm takes over French Manugestion Group
With the acquisition of the Manugestion Group, Novoferm is consistently expanding its position on the French market. The Manugestion Group specialises in the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial doors and loading systems through its well-established company Manuregion. Founded in 1989, the company has 120 employees at seven locations in north-east France and achieves an annual turnover of 25 million euros. For Novoferm, the acquisition is an important step in the continuous expansion of the Novoferm Group's activities throughout Europe.
2019
Acquisition of Robust AB in Sweden
With the Swedish company Robust AB, the Novoferm Group is taking over a leading steel door manufacturer in Scandinavia and the UK and strengthening its own position in both markets in the long term. Robust AB, based in Nykroppa, Sweden, has production facilities in Nykroppa, Sweden, and Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, UK. The company employs 175 people and specialises in the manufacture of fire doors, multifunctional doors and security doors for the industrial and commercial sectors.
2018
Acquisition of Bolton Gate Service Ltd. in Great Britain
Novoferm is further expanding its position in the UK market. With the signing of the share certificates, the Novoferm Group has acquired 100 per cent of the shares in the growing service company Bolton Gate Services (BGS). BGS specialises in maintenance, repair and services, offering a 24-hour emergency repair service to industrial and commercial customers and has built up a strong position in the UK market since it was established in 1998.

Acquisition of the French Norsud Group
The acquisition of the Norsud Group, one of the leading suppliers on the French market for industrial doors and loading technologies, strengthens Novoferm's position as an international full-service provider of products and logistics solutions.

2016
Novoferm Group opens state-of-the-art training centre
Novoferm offers its customers even more service and know-how: a new, state-of-the-art training centre with an attractive showroom and adjacent test and technology centre has been opened at the Dortmund site in central Germany. Here, customers and employees are given a comprehensive overview of the entire product and service range of the entire Novoferm Group. The focus is on highly qualified training programmes in a modern learning environment. The new location is also the future headquarters of the Novoferm subsidiary tormatic.

Acquisition of Alpha Deuren International B.V.
Novoferm acquires the Dutch company Alpha Deuren International B.V., one of Europe's leading manufacturers of sectional doors. With this acquisition, Novoferm is consistently strengthening its international position, particularly in the industrial door sector. The takeover enables us to consistently expand our service portfolio and sustainably sharpen our profile in international competition. Alpha Deuren is a perfect strategic fit for Novoferm. Both companies share the same corporate philosophy of innovative strength, quality and reliability.
