Es besteht aus Einzelelementen, sogenannten Sektionen, die durch Scharniere miteinander verbunden sind. So lässt sich das Tor bequem senkrecht unter die Decke schieben bzw. öffnen und schließen, ohne dass zusätzlicher Schwenkraum vor der Garage benötigt wird.

Für Sie bedeutet das: mehr Platz vor der Garage, z.B. für das Parken eines Zweitwagens. Auch der fließende Verkehr wird bei straßen- oder gehwegnaher Garagenlage in keiner Weise beeinträchtigt. Bei Toren mit elektrischem Antrieb steht Ihnen immer die volle Durchfahrtshöhe zur Verfügung – ideal für hohe Fahrzeuge wie Geländewagen oder Vans.

Das Schwingtor ist der bewährte Klassiker unter den Garagentoren und erfreut sich einer weiten Verbreitung. Es besteht aus einem einflügeligen, verzinkten Torblatt, das über seitliche Hebelarme mit Ausgleichsfedern bewegt wird – je nach Wunsch per Hand oder elektrischen Antrieb. Dabei „schwingt“ das Torblatt aus, weshalb vor der Garage ein Schwenkbereich mit einkalkuliert werden muss.

Question 2: Which materials do you prefer?

Steel or solid wood

Novoferm garage doors are available in steel or solid wood!

Steel

Novoferm steel garage doors are sturdily built, durable, easy to care for and come in a wide range of colours!

All steel sectional garage doors made by Novoferm have double skin insulation. The individual sections are made of thin sheet metal that is galvanized and finished with a hard-wearing coat of polyester-based paint. Angular frames, guides and all hardware are also galvanized to keep them permanently durable and make sure you enjoy your garage door for years to come.

Novoferm steel sectional garage doors are named after the thickness of their insulation and are available as "sectional garage doors with 20 mm insulation" or the luxury version "premium sectional garage doors with 45 mm insulation".

All steel up-and-over garage doors made by Novoferm are highly corrosion resistant thanks to their base coat of electrostatic powder coating on polyester base, and their galvanized door leaves. The door leaf and block frame, guides, lever arms and all other components are also galvanized.

Depending on the model, you can choose from a number of motifs/patterns, surface finishes and colours to individually enhance your steel garage door.

A steel garage door made by Novoferm turns every arrival into a welcome and gives your garage individual character – that matches the architecture of your house and your personal style.

Wood

Novoferm solid wood doors are made exclusively of carefully selected Nordic pine or African okoume. Pine stands out due to its inviting light colour and predominantly horizontal grain. Okoume glows red brown and darkens over time in the sunlight. All woods come from controlled, renewable forests.

Novoferm solid wood doors are given a colourless base coat at the factory to protect against wood pests and blue stain. Treatment of solid wood garage doors with a pigmented top coat after installation is imperative to protect them against weather conditions and UV rays and to decorate them.

Individual patterns to suit your taste are available at additional cost, depending on the type of garage door!

The choice is widest for Novoferm premium sectional garage doors with 45 mm insulation where you can select from 5 patterns, and all of the surface finishes and colours listed below. The choice for sectional garage doors with 20 mm insulation is not quite as broad.

Question 4: Are garage doors thermally insulated?

Thermal insulation on sectional garage doors

When choosing a garage door, you should also pay attention to whether it is insulated, depending on where the garage will stand (on its own or attached to the house) and what it will be used for (living area, hobby/storage room) in addition to parking and securing your car. Sectional garage doors made by Novoferm are insulated.

The steel sections on our sectional garage doors are exclusively manufactured in a double-skinned sandwich construction and filled with an insulating rigid PUR foam core. This ensures improved soundproofing and heat insulation, and quieter door operation compared with single-skinned garage doors. The flexible lip seals between the sections fit closely even at low temperatures. They prevent any heat losses and keep the dust out.

Sectional garage doors are filled with a 20 mm rigid PUR foam core to guarantee good acoustic and thermal insulation performance (heat insulation value K = 1.0 W/m²K).

Premium sectional garage doors are filled with a 45 mm rigid PUR foam core to guarantee maximum acoustic and thermal insulation performance (heat insulation value K = 0.5 W/m²K).

Question 5: How do I want to open the garage door?
