Ellie King joined us at Novoferm in January 2020 as part of the Business Admin Apprenticeship scheme. Having completed the course with a distinction in June 2021, Ellie has since stayed with us and became part of our HR team.
Ellie initially took an interest in the Business Admin Apprenticeship scheme as she was looking to further her career, having worked in retail for over two years. "I felt as though it could give me a great experience working in an office", she told us. Ellie was initially surprised by Novoferm's operations' scale when she first joined the company, as she wasn't sure what to expect from the manufacturing industry. However, it didn't take long for her to settle in and become a valuable team member.
Ellie worked with the admin team in Novoferm's operations department throughout the apprenticeship scheme. Here, she assisted with the planning of production and several other essential admin tasks. "The best thing I have learnt in my apprenticeship is how to problem solve and how to adapt to new changes", she said. Ellie has also noted how her organisation, communication, and administration skills have significantly improved as a result of the scheme. All these attributes make her a vital member of the HR team.
On what she enjoys about working with Novoferm, Ellie told us, "I like how there is always something to do. I am always kept busy, and I am always learning new things." As well as enjoying the friendly office environment, Ellie also likes that the business is moving forward in the right direction. She believes that the apprenticeship scheme is ideal for someone who's looking to earn and learn while gaining a valuable qualification. In addition, she says, "there is definite potential for personal growth in the business at Novoferm."
